JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of Gas Measurement Manager, responsible for the Company’s gas metering/measurement and pressure control activities, including regulatory federal and state compliance, regulator station maintenance program, and the sizing and design of large volume meter sets. Provide input in the designing of pressure control and odorization facilities. Assists in budgeting and inventory levels of measurement related parts. Provides direct leadership and training to the meter inspection departments across the company. Provides technical assistance to the field operations staff. Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day-to-day work routine for self and others.

Position to be located within the Company service territory.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must possess a working knowledge of measurement practices and mechanical theory of gas and/or electric meters equipment and facilities normally acquired through a four-year degree in an engineering discipline; and
  • Five years of utility measurement and regulation related experience.

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS

    • Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage or unauthorized access.
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered.
    • Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
    • Required to maintain a valid driver's license.
    • Requires travel: Moderate (25% and over) within service territory.
    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • Working experience in a gas or electric distribution function.
    • Knowledgeable of software technology and/or database reporting methods.
    • Knowledgeable of state and federal safety regulation code requirements.
    • Prior supervisory experience.
    • Experience with instrumentation and calibrations.
    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
    1. Responsible for the regulatory compliance for operations and maintenance of regulation, measurement and odorization facilities as they relate to DOT requirements and state regulatory commissions.
    2. Under guidance from the Measurement Manager, designs metering used for delivery of gas.
    3. Assists and recommends engineering design changes relative to measurement, regulation, odorization, heating, and associated operations.
    4. Supervises Meter Inspector staff across the company.
    5. Provides support and training on maintenance, testing, calibration and repair of field measurement and data-gathering equipment, flow computer and meter testing equipment.
    6. Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.
